Kate Wyatt is a trial attorney who handles companies' toxic tort litigation, products liability litigation and business litigation.
Kate has defended toxic tort premises liability and products liability actions serving on both local and national counsel teams for companies with toxic tort and asbestos litigation. Kate has been part of a national counsel team for a Fortune 500 company involving all aspects of the discovery process and trial preparation in both state and federal courts in a multitude of jurisdictions. In that capacity, she has worked to streamline the discovery process, and has prepared lay witnesses, corporate witnesses and expert witnesses, including medical experts and industrial hygienists.
Kate has defended asbestos clients in state and federal court, and worked as part of defendants' liaison counsel team in Massachusetts asbestos litigation. She has defended asbestos claims involving both premises and products, including refineries, chemical plants, shipyards, oil fields, boilers, brakes and other automobile components, paints and pigments, resins, asphalt, and pipes. In addition, Kate has defended wrongful death actions relating to industrial accidents, and has worked to prepare safety and OSHA compliance experts.
Kate has also worked extensively to build protocols and procedures for both large and small companies to comply with the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (MMSEA/ Mandatory Settlement Reporting).
